One hundred years of solitude it’s a novel from the Colombian
author Gabriel García Marquez. It tells the history of the Buendia family, that
arrived to a city called Macondo, the metaphoric country of Colombia. There is
seven generations of the family its contents on the book. The founders of the
family are Jose Arcadio Buendia and Ursula Iguarán. Jose Arcadio Buendia
dreamed with a promise land, and he found it on Macondo. He establishes the
town near to a river. Macondo it’s a remote place and there is no other places
near to the town. The town it’s currently visited by gypsies that bring some
new thing that surprise the people of the town. Melquiades, a gypsy, with Jose
Arcadio Buendia, are closer friends and Melquiades shows his news invention
that blow the mind of his friend. Jose Arcadio Buendia, now is obsessed with
the inventions, and he became insane on the mission of discover the secrets of
the universe. The rest of the history is concentrated on the descendants, there
are so many of them, there is incest, magic, kills, betrayals, and other interesting
things like love and war.
